How to make my bluetooth hearing aid pendant work with my corded office phone

August 26th, 2015

Do you have a bluetooth hearing aid with pendant and want to get it to work with your corded office desk telephone (which is non-bluetooth, of course)? Now you can do that easily without a huge expense. Simply order the Plantronics MDA200 USB adapter which would plug into your computer. Then add the Plantronics SSP2714-01 Bluetooth Adapter, which plugs into the MDA200. Connect the telephone cord from the MDA200 into your desk telephone (either into the handset receiver port or into the dedicated RJ9 headset port, if your phone has one). That’s all there is to it!

This will allow you to use your hearing aid with your computer (if you listen to music or use Skype, etc.), with your desk phone and with your cell phone (simply pair it by bluetooth).

If you want to be able to answer a call on your desk phone while away from your desk, you will need to get either the HL10 handset lifter or an EHS cord (depending on the brand/model of your desk phone). If you do opt for either of these, you will also need to get an optional AC charger (see below).

Here are the links to the MDA200 and the SSP2714-01:
